Hypnotherapy for Stop Vaping
Vaping - Do you feel a bit trapped by it?
Vaping is marketed as the way to stop smoking and it has indeed enabled many, many people to turn away from cigarettes.
And I'm sure many people are satisfied with that switch, they pick up their vape when they used to light up a cigarette.
But others are finding that they're vaping more than they ever smoked. Whereas they didn't smoke at their desk, in the house or whilst driving these spaces that were once smoke free may no longer be. And, despite vaping being originally seen as a nice way to get cigarette smokers onto a "safer option", it turns out lots of people have taken up vaping who never smoked cigarettes.
Some of the downsides of smoking, such as the smell, aren't part of vaping so if we're not careful we can even find ourselves vaping just before stepping into work or social meetings, as we don't need to worry about the smell of our breath or clothes.
And whereas there's a beginning and an end to smoking a cigarette, it's not the same with vaping. Lots of individual sips or puffs soon add up and before we know it, we find we're vaping far more than we ever smoked cigarettes.
Vaping - Why is it so hard to quit?
It's possible your vaping habit has become so deeply ingrained it's become subconsious. You don't consciously think I'd like to vape, you just automatically reach for it. This is why hypnotherapy is a great way of giving up vaping, as it's great at interrupting subconscious habits.
Think for a moment about the times you vape during the day and how the habit is linked rigt into your daily routine. Become aware of how you automatically reach for the device and before you know it, it's in your mouth and you've inhaled.
You probably sleep through the night without needing to wake for a vape, which is an indication vaping is more of a habit than a physical addiction.
The Right Time and Right Way for You
I always encourage people to consider if this is the right time for them to quit. If it is and you feel you're already really motivated, or would like some help to become more motivated then hypnotherapy for quitting vaping could be for you.
Hypnosis can be a very effective way of giving up the vaping habit. It's not the only way, in fact I came across this newspaper article a while ago which showed how much people can achieve on their own, there were some really inventive solutions. The article relates to quitting smoking cigarettes but the techniques would apply equally to any form of smoking. May be one of these ideas might work for you? If not then please do get in touch so I can give you that helping hand.
My Stop Vaping Approach
I offer a simple four step process:
1) Telephone call assessment where I find out all about your smoking history (both cigarettes and vapes) - when you started, whether you've given up before and if so what drew you back in. We will also talk about your motivations for giving up now.
2) You pay for two hypnosis sessions up front. Why two, why up front? Well partly it shows you're committed and secondly it encourages you to return if by chance you relapse. Each hypnosis session is £90, so I'm asking you to invest £180 in your stop vaping journey with me.
3) We have our stop vaping hypnosis session.
4) You let me know how you're getting on and if there's more work to do we'll go ahead and do it.
If during our phone call I think vaping is more than just a habit then I can still help, but we might take a different approach. For example if you're smoking because you're stressed or anxious about something it may make sense to deal with that first.
